Abstract: In the process of teaching Mathematics at the primary level, applying mathematics education theory
in connection with real-life contexts plays a crucial role in helping students explore and acquire
knowledge effectively and vividly. Particularly, in the topic of Decimal Numbers and Operations with
Decimals, the integration of real-life applications through mathematics education theory brings
significant benefits. Decimal numbers are not merely abstract mathematical concepts; they also have
direct applications in everyday life. Based on an overview of the theoretical foundations of
mathematics education in real-life contexts, this paper proposes several approaches for applying this
theory to the teaching of decimal numbers and operations with decimals in Grade 5 in Vietnam. |
