Abstract: Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental, childhood-onset, and selfcontrol disorder. It is characterised by marked and persistent levels of inattention, impulsivity and
hyperactivity, which are disproportionate to age. For a long time, it was believed that ADHD was a
disorder exclusively characterising childhood/adolescence. Still, scientific evidence has shown that it
persists throughout life in up to 85% of cases, causing significant difficulties even in adulthood.
This paper presents a metacognitive intervention for an eight-year-old child in the third grade of
primary school.
